•• Robert Burns the Dumfries Years ••

27 January 2019

In 2018 The Robert Burns Centre was awarded a grant by Museums Galleries Scotland to refurbish the exhibition area, bringing to life the Dumfries collections relating to the bard. The Centre is celebrating the 260th anniversary of Robert Burns’ birth with a free event to launch the redisplayed gallery.

Hear about the life and works of Robert Burns from Professor Gerry Carruthers, School of Critical Studies, University of Glasgow and Chair of Burns Scotland with Fred Freeman, Professor of Traditional Music, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This will be followed by a short performance of some of Burns best known works by local young people.

4-5pm, Refreshments in the foyer and an opportunity to visit the new displays with the curator and our visiting experts.

Booking is Essential. Call the Robert Burns Centre for tickets on 01387 264808.
