•• Year of Creativity ••

We are launching our Year of Creativity in August, because we know we need to help mobilise the social recovery of our incredible region.

We are currently seeking partners, community groups, young people, teachers, care homes, volunteers, businesses, and expressions of interest from across the community. It will be our intention to create a major celebration at the end of June 2021.

We are going to need your help in making all of it a reality. We know that the road will be bumpier than usual. If you are a young person in our region – check out our pages here with our opportunities for you.

We’re currently looking for volunteers who have a couple of hours to spare to help us make the costumes for carnival. You don’t need to have experience, our costumes range from crafting to sewing so anyone can get involved. You can register your interest here or if you’d like to speak with us about it – please dial 01387 733717 or email us on diane@bigburnssupper.com

•• What is it? ••

It is a whole year of projects that will be starting in August. There will lots of online digital activities, as well as the traditional activities like making, sewing, painting and designing.

•• When is it? ••

It starts in August. We did think about waiting until January – but something tells us that everyone is in need of this now. There will be three key events that the year will shape around. August to September will be an online programme for everyone, January will be our winter event, although it may be slightly smaller than usual, and June to July will be our big finale and hopefully our Carnival

•• How will it be delivered? ••

It does not matter where you are- there will be something for everyone.

•• What are we hoping to achieve? ••

Our purpose is to bring people together, help young people mobilise themselves and each other in these extra ordinary times, and get Dumfries & Galloway fast tracked into the recovery using creativity!

•• How can we be involved? ••

This will be a massive team effort by us all, so if you are interested in finding out more – use our sign-up form and we will include you in our Year of Creativity updates

•• I have got an idea – could we pitch it as part of the programme? ••

This is all about getting our community moving and being creative. If you have an idea – we would love to hear it. Get in touch with us below.
