•• YouTube Sessions Resources ••

Thanks for joining our YouTube Sessions!

Below is the resources you will need for Session 1 – October 28th (6.30pm – 8pm). This month we are going to be rehearsing “Sit Down” by James.

We have split the song into four parts.

You can listen to each part as a vocal part on it’s own, or with the piano / guitar behind it.   At the very bottom of the sound files is an instrumental, so you can have a shot at the track on your own.

In the next few days we will be adding sheet music for each section.

All you have to do now is practise, practise, practise –  because on the 28th October, we will take you through a virtual choir rehearsal where you will sing along with us (virtually) as if you were at a real choir rehearsal.  You will need to apply lots of make believe fairy dust to the evening and make sure you have your headphones!

For new people, we suggest having a listen to all parts to see what feels right.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE NIGHT
  • You will be sent a private Youtube link
  • Graham will be there on the video to meet you – we won’t be able to see or hear you
  • Graham will pretend you are all there
  • You will have found a nice quiet space in the house (or have convinced the house to have a go!)
  • You will have played the tracks a good few times so you know whats going on
  • We will go through a warm up together
  • We will start going over each part much as we would do in a normal rehearsal
  • You will use the power of your imagination to believe you are in an actual rehearsal
  • We suggest squinting your eyes or rubbing your nose!
  • You will sing from the top of your lungs
  • We will have learned one new song in 2020
  • For the purposes of escapism we have banned the following words from the session 1. Lockdown, 2. Pandemic, 3. Covid-19 or any other medical term for it.
