Expression of Interest: Seconday Art Teachers – Dumfries & Galloway
(PRIMARY SCHOOL OPPORTUNITIES AT BOTTOM)
August 2026 – January 2027
We are inviting expressions of interest from Art teachers across Dumfries & Galloway who would like to collaborate with our artists and organisation from August 2026 through to January 2027.
For over 15 years, we’ve worked in partnership with schools and communities to develop creative projects that are bold, inclusive and rooted in local pride. We develop the ideas and secure the funding — making it easy for schools to take part without financial pressure.
How Schools Can Get Involved
Primary schools participate by performing in the final celebration, but there are many creative ways to engage along the way.
Perhaps you have:
Talented pupils who would love to design a costume for their cluster primary school to wear
A class that would benefit from a creative boost or confidence-building project
Pupils who would thrive with a hands-on, collaborative experience outside the usual curriculum structure
We can run a design competition within your class, with the winning costume brought to life by the pupils themselves — supported by our professional artists. It’s an exciting opportunity for young people to see their ideas realised on a larger stage.
Why Take Part?
Free artist support and materials
A proven boost to community wellbeing and local pride
Supports creativity, collaboration and confidence
Positive impact on social engagement and attainment
Professional photography of the finished costumes — a fantastic portfolio piece for pupils
Great exposure for your school and young creatives
Our projects bring communities together and contribute to a sense of safety, belonging and shared celebration across Dumfries & Galloway.
Flexible Collaboration
We understand that school timetables are busy, and scheduling can be challenging — especially when working with multiple schools. We aim to be as flexible as possible and will work with you to plan sessions that fit within your calendar.
We begin in August 2026 and can work with you right through to early January 2027.
Interested?
We would love to hear from you.
If you’re curious about how your school or class could be involved, please get in touch and submit an expression of interest. Let’s create something special together.
