Thank you for completing this survey. The survey is open until 24th December and we invite you to give us your views on how the Loreburn Hall might be used in the future.
On the 29th November, Dumfries & Galloway Council announced their decision to put the Loreburn Hall on the open market. We have been occupying the Hall for over 16 months. We are now about to launch our campaign for us to secure the Hall as the home of Big Burns Supper and our partner projects as a community and cultural hub for Dumfries.
We are interested in the views of our community and community groups, social groups, networks, businesses and training providers who might be interested in our vision to bring the Loreburn Hall back to life.
This consultation is being conducted by the Electric Theatre Workshop who run Big Burns Supper, Dumfries Community Choir, Dumfries Carnival and the Producers of the Future training programme. We are a social cooperative and membership is open to anyone who lives in Dumfries & Galloway. You can find out about joining here.
If there is anything in the survey that you would like to talk about, please get in touch with us via email here or call us on 01387 733717.
So far the survey has been completed by 589 people and 32 community organisations have been identified as partners and we have reached 32,590 people through our community consultation.

Individuals
We want to hear your views about the future of the Loreburn Hall. Do you think Big Burns Supper should run it, what could it be used for – are you somebody who would like to play a role in shaping the future? Could we help you make your event ideas a reality? Are you a young person who would like to work with the organisation moving forward?
We are interested in ‘foundation partners’ stepping forward to help us create the blueprint for the first two years. By foundation partner, we simply mean your event or ideas could form part of the first programme.
To meet our expectations in community wide governance, we would expect you to attend our six monthly co-operative meetings. In return we would hope to be able to provide you with discounted rates on services and hires.
