•• Loreburn Hall is the home of Dumfries’ new pop-up cinema! ••

Loreburn Hall has been unveiled as the home of a new pop-up cinema bringing monthly film screenings to the region for an initial test period of 11 months as Big Burns Supper are granted use of the premises until February 2023. 

The Dumfries venue will host an 80-seat sofa cinema experience where audiences can relax in a stylish setting while enjoying a cold beer or other refreshments.

 The cinema will be run in collaboration with support company INDY cinema. 

Allison McLellan, Head of Operations at Big Burns Supper, said:

“We are excited to be bringing the Loreburn Hall back to public use, and our new pop-up cinema project will help give our community access to even more culture on top of rescheduled festival events that now take place throughout the year.

“Our volunteers have worked for six months getting the hall ready and we cannot wait to show Dumfries what we have been working on. This has been a passion project by our community, for our community.”

The cinema at Loreburn Hall, Newall Terrace, opens on Monday April 11th   with screenings of Encanto and Sing 2. 

Films in April also include: 

The Nan Movie, April 13th and 14th 

Sonic 2, April 15th, 16th and 17th 

Phantom of the Open, April 15th, 16th and 17th

National Theatre Scotland: Henry V, April 21st 

Ambulance, April 22nd, 23rd and 24th 

Screenings will resume in May after a short break as Big Burns Supper’s rescheduled shows run from April 29th to May 1st with their Tribute Sessions, including Status Quo Experience, Bob Marley Experience, The Complete Stone Roses, Mercury, Abba Revival and many more. 

Tickets are £9.99 per screening, or £5.99 for members.
