Le Haggis cabaret show is the toast of the Big Burns Supper in Dumfries.

Local stars including Lockerbie’s Grant Dinwoodie have joined forces with international talent to wow the crowds in Le Haggis at the Big Burns Supper’s Spiegeltent in Newall Terrace.

Big Burns Supper cabaret is a near sell out success, but there’s plenty more to enjoy at the nine-day festival in Dumfries.

The stars of the saucy Le Haggis cabaret at the Big Burns Supper in Dumfries are celebrating a near sell-out run of performances.

The thrilling new line-up for the award-winning show has delighted audiences, who have been coming in from across Scotland and the rest of the UK, for the nine-day festival – which ends on Saturday.

Among the acts are:

  • Jess Robinson – whose impersonations of famous singing stars is a mini tour de force.
  • Aerial Starfiz duo Leyla Rees and Katie Hardwick, whose elegance, grace and sheer sexiness are astounding.
  • Hugo Desmarais, aerial acrobat, who brings a huge dose of raw male sexual energy to his act.
  • Chi Chi Revolver, hula hooper who has created a special act for Le Haggis.
  • Along with contortionist Pixie Le Knot and the acrobatic Josh Brown.

Le Haggis stands out for the way it brings together national, international and home-grown talent in a show that’s rich with Scottish themes and culture.

It’s driven by a Celtic rock soundtrack with great Scottish songs from Burns through to the present day.

Graham Main, Artistic Director, said: “Le Haggis is circus for the soul – an amazing mix of music, aerial performance, circus sideshow and cheeky humour. We’re overwhelmed by how popular it’s been.”

Tickets are still available for Friday night, but the remainder of the run has already sold out.

However, Big Burns Supper has plenty more to offer with Camille O’Sullivan, Black Grape, AnDa Union and the Treacherous Orchestra still to come.

The festival is nine days of carnival, cabaret, music, comedy and theatre all wrapped round the Bard’s birthday and is a celebration of all that’s best in life – and of contemporary Scottish culture.
