Get your skates on and relive the glory days with Roller Disco!

Get your skates on and step back to the eighties to enjoy a fun-filled Roller Disco in the Loreburn Hall.

The two-day extravaganza is just the latest initiative by the Big Burns Supper Team as part of their 12 month take-over of the community space.

Skating sessions will be held over two days on Saturday, December 3rd and Sunday, December 4th, including the chance for you to get close to the man of the moment and enjoy a ‘skate with Santa’ on the Sunday.

For adults hoping to recreate the running man or the Biz, then a special eighties-themed session at 8pm on the Saturday is designed to bring back memories.

To help create the perfect atmosphere, organisers are also on the lookout for three  young superstar DJs to spin the decks and keep people moving while the roller disco is in full swing.

If you’re a budding DJ willing to spin the decks and keep the tunes pumping, then this could be the perfect chance to showcase your talents.

Graham Main, Executive Producer of Big Burns Supper which is currently running the Loreburn Hall, said: “We are having a lot of fun thinking about different ways the hall can be used, and this idea came from feedback about how the hall was used in the past.

“We ran a Roller Disco in the Spiegeltent in 2014 and it was a lot of fun. It will be great to bring people together to rekindle the past and make new memories. “

Katriona Bailey, from Dumfries, used to go to the Roller Disco in the 1980s when she was a teenager.

“The first time I went I was a bit scared,” she recalled, “so I just skated around. But it was fab; loud 80s music, flashing lights and loads of people just skating around and around.

“It was huge fun.”

To apply to be a Superstar DJ please visit the Big Burns Supper website.

Tickets are priced £8 for adults and £6 for children and are available from www.bigburnssupper.com or by calling 01387 733717
